Twitter for iPhone iPhone/iPod Touch App Review

Twitter for iPhone is a new app made by, who else? Twitter.com. Twitter recently partnered up with an independent iPhone/Mac twitter client, Tweetie, who had already made two apps, Tweetie 1 & 2. Shortly before Twitter for iPhone was released (May 18th), Tweetie 2 was taken off the app store. Why did Twitter pick Tweetie? Tweetie has been renouned for its clean, easy-to-use interface which is very prevalent in the Twitter for iPhone app. Enough of the background information, let’s get into the app. This app is, for one thing, free of charge which is understandable seeing as it’s THE Twitter app, that people who use Twitter, which is free as well, will use, if they charged for it, it would seem like more of an independent app, and I don’t see a pro or premium edition coming. Tweetie was .99 on the Apple App Store and now that they are pretty much re-releasing the app under a different name but free, will Tweetie lose money? Definitely not, they are partners with one of the top 3 social networking companies in the world and the top for micro-blogging. To start out on the app, you can setup multiple twitter accounts, or setup a new account, and you have the option to use a custom API root for advanced users. Once in the interface you are brought to a basic twitter iphone client interface dashboard, Tweets from whom you’re following, @ Replies, messages, Search (includes Trending Topics and Suggested Users), and the settings panel. What sets this app apart from others is
