Never have, never will be. A bit of common sense goes a long way.

I have never bought into any get something for free scams. But I have been victim to two separate scams and they were both doozies. First, a co-worker got hold of my information and wound up using my name to get all new ID for himself. After he was busted for trafficking cocaine he went to prison with my name and social security number. The next time I got pulled over I was 2000 miles away, I got a ride straight to the DA’s office. Luckily I was in Montana at the time and they are a lot more laid back. I had to change my name and get a new SS# for that scam. A couple of years later I went into business with someone who set up some kind of wild scam that I was never part of. I barely wiggled out of that one before the cops showed up and hauled him away. I still had to fight a settlement in court and prove I had no part of it. So, it still cost me.

My parents were, twice. I know it’s really stupid now, but I was too young to realize, and my dad sent this guy $4000 for a bmw that he had found online. The second time, my mom was scammed by Go Relax Travel (a vaction scam) Oh, my parents and the internet:(
